Router keeps dropping all connections

I've had this Asus RT-N56U router for maybe 2 years now and its been great but the past week or so its been dropping all of its connections. when i say all i mean all, 2g, 5g and lan. it's as if it restarted bethe time it takes to reconnect is way faster than an actual restart. so far i'v updated it twice, even went to the beta firmware and changed which socket it's plugged into just incase that helped and i'm still getting disconnected, any ideas how to stop this? Thanks in advance for any and all help

Did you notice whether it's actually losing power when it drops the connections i.e. is the power light turning off, or by the light indications does it look like it's just resetting?

Really stupid thought, is anybody using a landline phone (assuming you have an adsl connection), when it drops off? if there is a landline you do have a filter in for it don't you? Also on the landline point, if you have a landline phone connection, is it noisy? Pick up the phone, dial just one digit to break the dial tone and listen carefully for noise. Line faults can play havoc with an ADSL connection.
