Was the battery unplugged when you were doing the screen replacement?

Chances are that the backlight filter may be shorted. First things first try cleaning the screen ribbon connectors, cable and logic board side with 95%+ isopropyl alcohol and reseat the connectors.

The cables that connect the screen, clean those?

Yeah, the two wider ones in particular (The widest one is for the digitizer / touch screen and the second less wider one is for the LCD (Image / screen Display)).

This is a belated answer so hopefully it can be of use to folks who search for and find this question.

When a replacement part does not work, an important troubleshooting step is to try the original part to see if you can get the phone back to the same state, just prior to the repair attempt. Of course, this assumes the original part was somewhat functional. For screens, they are usually cracked but still working...at least they usually light up.

So if the original screen works, you can isolate the issue to the replacement screen. Try disconnecting the FCAM/Sensor flex and connect just the LCD & Digitizer connector. This will tell you if the FCAM/Sensor flex is causing any issues. Ultimately, if the screen still won't turn on but the original screen does, then you have a faulty replacement screen.
