Steps to rescue hard drive from Broken MacBook Pro?

Mackbook Pro unibody 13" Mid-2012

Hi guys,

My 2012 13" Macbook Pro suffered some water damage and was fried a couple years ago. I still have it, it wont turn on, but I would like to attempt to rescue the hard drive from the Macbook and see if I can save any photos/media still on there.

I could only locate guides on replacing a hard drive for that model, but not removing the hard drive, transferring it to some sort of enclosure, and booting it up externally using my new Macbook. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Use this guide to remove the hard drive:

Use an SATA to USB adapter, plug it in and attach to another Mac. The hard drive icon should appear on the desktop.
