Why is my new electronic control board not fixing my problem?

After reading numerous replies that my freezer problem could be the electronic control board (part # 297370600) I ordered it and plugged it in and my freezer still has the inside bulb burning ONLY. I tried to program the ecb numerous ways with no results.I continued to do more research by guys more intelligent than me in refrigeration diagnostics and straight wired #2 and #3 terminals where the ecb plugs in the wiring harness as instructed on a You Tube video on left front door panel and the freezer runs, the fan, compressor.even the refrigeration sounds and it starts cooling inside and everything.I used an online fuse in my straight wire for further protection from shorting and burning wires which would have only added to my problem.I am lost for anything new to try except maybe ordering a new start/run capacitor(part#216985001)and could straight wiring have created a stronger current flow to the start/run capacitor and to the compressor start relay than the ecb? since the start/run capacitor and the compressor start (overload)relay work well when straight wired ....could one of these items still be my start up and run problems? Any new suggestion will be appreciated Frigidaire model #LFFU14F5HWN

Hi, Is the thermostat working properly?

by

Hello, the control board on my Amana fridge used to fry, over an over, every 6 months or so.

I've heard from the technician about voltage spikes and how it affects all electronic componants

and he recommended that I purchase a surge protector designed for appliances from these guys www.servaparts.com

Been 8 months now and the fridge runs smooth. Even had a few power outage and the board didn't flinch.

That little gizmo really does the trick. I pluged it in the outlet and it's ready to go.

Each repair on my fridge cost about 315$ so it's really worth the 13$ I paid for.

Mike.

Jayeff I checked the defrost thermostat by placing it in a working freezer for 15 minutes. It checked out as good and it had continuity on my multi meter. The thermistor's resistance readings were very low from the norm so I replaced it and my freezer started right up and runs fine now....thanks again for helping me putting me in the right direction to my problem!
