No Power after soaking Logic Board

Hi Everyone,

New to this. My daughter recently spilled some water on her MacBook. Removed hard drive and it would just come up with a question mark. I put hard drive back in and was able to run diagnostics. It came back with an error, "4SNS/1/40000001-VPOR-4.956". I guess the issue is a sensor for Voltage on the power bus. So, I soaked the logic board in isopropyl alcohol and let it dry overnight. I put it back together and now it will not power up at all. Serial number is "C1ML68VQDTY3". I also did a search for an internal fuse, but, so far have had no luck.

Am I looking at a new Logic Board? Should I even try that?

Thanks for any suggestions....

I have an update. I checked the power on the magsafe adapter (?) pictured. I get no voltage between 1 and 2, 2 and 5, 4 and 1, 4 and 5. Both 1 and 5 and 2 and 4 have continuity. When I connect it to power I have no continuity between 6 and 7. I am thinking (hoping) that 6 and 7 may be a fuse? If so I think a new one is about $15 on Amazon. Does this look crazy or am I possibly on the right path?

I cannot figure out how to post an image. As soon as I do I will post it.

Pat here is a snippet of the MagSafe socket as reference.

Unlike the numbering in your image the #5 pin in the schematic is in fact the middle pin in your image (smaller solder mound). Make sure you don't short it out to either of the pins with the DC-In board plugged into the logic board. Referencing your image: pins 1 & 5 as well as 2 & 4 are electrically the same. This is done to allow one to flip the MagSafe connector to enter in either direction.

The fuse link is on the main logic board not on the DC-In board. But I bet you have a bad DC line from the water spill. Watch Louis vid here where he explains the issue: Macbook charger green light, or what is the onewire circuit and why should I care?

Update (09/15/2016)

As you can see here the code VPOR is a bad Pbus (voltage) on the logic board. The zero's is not important at this point.

Thanks Dan. I will watch the vid and see what I can do when I get home.

I should add that I do get a green light when hooked up. I believe it was orange at first but after a while it did turn green. I assumed that meant my battery started off not fully charged (orange) and then was fully charged (green). I also connected the board like Louis in the video and the light was green.

Boy do I feel dumb. The reason it would not even start is that I did not get the keyboard ribbon in far enough. So, I did get it to start but now I get a hardware error.

4SNS/1/40000001:VPOR-0.000

Does the 0.000 instead of the 4.956 have any significance?

Though I did waste some time I have to say I learned an awful lot about the Macbook. The video by Louis helped me understand it a lot more. Thanks Dan for that tip...

Does this mean there is no way to get it working again even by trying to clean it up more?

One more piece of information. It will not try to start up with the magsafe plugged in, but, does try when only the battery is connected, but it still will not boot.
