Why want my car start?

I have a 1998 Honda accord , while driving the dash broad & radio staring going in & out , put oil in it and while I was driving it ranned hot and starting smoking and it went dead , so found out it was the alternator , battary was completely dead , bought a new alternator & belt & radiator .. I boost it off and everything comes on but it just want crank , while trying too crank it my boyfriend was putting water in it and the water shot out the radiator we don't know what's wrong please help us please
