How to remove fan shroud from freezer?

My refrigerator has stopped working properly and I believe it's the fan motor that is in the freezer.

The air in the freezer is cold, but it isn't moving down to the fridge.

How can I remove the fan shroud to get to the motor?

Hi,

Here is a link which shows an expanded view of all the 'liner' parts in your refrigerator. Hopefully it will help you to gain access to the motor. It also gives name, part number and price of all the parts.

Hopefully this is of some help.

I've found this link before, but unfortunately it does not show how the shroud comes off.

I believe there are some hooks holding the shroud to the panel. Even when using some force, I still could not remove it. I'm afraid it could break if I use more force.

Hi, You can see it better than me but are there two screws (clips?) holding the fan shroud bracket on? Part No. 29 in the diagram has an arrow which seems to point straight at it and there is also what looks like a screw(clip?) showing to the left of the fan shroud as you view it in the picture.

There are screws, but I believe they only hold the back panel that covers the coils.

Should I try to remove the screws then see if the shroud will come off?

I really appreciate the help, thank you.

Hi, From what I can see on the diagram, the fan motor will be behind the back panel(16). The fan shroud appears to be part of the fan motor bracket (29) so by removing the screws (6 & 30) the brackets (back and front 35&29) and the motor/fan etc would be free. I may be wrong but that's what it looks like to me

Finally got it fixed! The ice maker had to come off first, then the back panel comes off with the fan shroud. Thanks again.
