towed cart in run mode

I had to tow an older ezgo golf cart due to low battery. I forgot to switch from run to maintence/tow mode. Now i get no electric/battery. did I break something electrical due to towing in run mode? thx de

I had the same exact problem but my cart smelt really bad especially from behind like a burning chemical any help on that?

I also had the same problems and mine also had a burning smell also. The cart also did not seem to take the hills as well. I'm concerned that I may have damaged it, any comments?.

All I can tell you is I have a 48 volt Club Car golf cart. I did the same thing and called the repair shop I use

They said that if you towed the golf cart with the switch on run you could damage the controller. However what they further told me was to attempt to reset the controller if it is not damaged. You do this by switching the golf cart on " tow", Turn on the ignition switch and press down the accelerator for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds turn off the golf cart switch the golf cart to "run" and then try starting your golf cart it should have reset the controller and the car will start working. I did this and it worked fine. Good luck
