It won't boot after decades of disuse.

I tried to boot up my Centris 610 after not using it for decades. All I get on the monitor is a blank, gray screen which doesn't go through the usual booting graphics.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

" When a Mac’s been sitting on a shelf too long (or in the garage, basement, etc.), it may have problems starting or booting up. This could be related to a dead or low PRAM battery"

A number of years ago, I had a PC that would not boot.

I found that the motherboard battery was so dead, it prevented it from booting, similar to your situation.

See the attached link, this may be your problem.

In my case, I just removed the battery and the PC started right up. Of course it forgot the CMOS configuration settings, but that wasnt a big problem. I replaced the battery, and reset the configuration.

I have had trouble pasting links in this forum so I am going to break it into two pieces as well, below, in case the first one doesnt come out right.
