How can I fix the auto rotation glitch on my tab?

I dropped my tablet once and after that the auto rotate has a glitch where when I have it on the lock the screen, it rotates vertically instead of staying horizontally. It only does this on the lock screen, but it is kind of annoying. The auto rotate mode is off and it still does this. Not sure what else there is to do?
