Won't quit spinning on regular and casual setting

The washing machine locks during the spin cycle. I have to push the on off button in to end the spin cycle, then unplug it to get the lock light off. The lid won't open at this time so I have to push the on off button again to unlock the lid. I tried using two different wash setting, regular and casual and it does the same thing on both settings.

Does it stop when the lid is opened? Does it work correctly on any other cycles?
