quality adhesive brand for screen repair

So my question is fairly simple, does anybody know of a high quality brand of adhesive to use when I repair the screen on my xperia? The screen is un-damaged however the adhesive layer that connects the screen to the chassis has started to fail.

When I replace the screen I will also be replacing the back cover as I chipped the lower right hand corner when I dropped it at some point.

The phone will be going to my mother when I am finished and have used it for a week or two to make sure that everything is working correctly.

Thanks for your time and help.

There are a ton of different high quality solutions. The first thing you need to do is get all of the old adhesive off. D-Limonene is what you buy. Its pretty cheap and it works awesome. Follow that up with IPA to clean up any residue.

As far as what adhesive to use, most of us use "red tape". A little heat and red tape will hold any screen. A lot of us like 3M Primer 94 as a pretreatment. You put the 94 on, let it sit for 5 minutes and then the red tape holds like super glue.

For "custom" solutions, a lot of people love Bowlertech adhesive. Its super strong and is good stuff. For me, I use red tape and primer and never have issues.

May I ask what brand you mean by "red tape" I ended up damaging my phone at work this week ( I should have taken it out of my pocket :( ) so Ill be attempting a repair as soon as parts arrive.

Hi the primer 94? I've ordered this as it sounds very good. Do you apply this to screen frame? And also the main frame? Then one layer of red tape or 2 layers as some people are doing with good success? Thanks for any help. Lee

One layer of tape on the screen and a liberal application of primer on the frame. Its important to set it set for 5 minutes and remember that its basically instant adhesion when the tape touches it.
