Tea spill on keyboard

Hi, two days ago I spilled quite a small amount of tea & milk on my keyboard (3-4 buttons bottom right) I did't realise it was serious at all! ran to wipe it off and continued using it, until my laptop was shutting down by itself (less than an hour) & to make it worse it was charging! I kept trying to open it and again it kept giving me the note (are you sure you want to shut down and shuts immediately).

next day I handed it to an authorised apple repair, they then tried to reset nothing happened, it was blank dead. no answer from them so far.

I am so anxious I have some work thats not backed up, any idea what may have happened, would it be a dead end? or might be fixable? costs?
