Why doesn't my Mac turn on?

When I press power button computer will not turn on. Light on side blinks for 3-4 seconds and stop blinking and off. Keyboard doesn't work: when I press Cups Lock it's light does not go on. iPhone doesn't charge when plug into computer. Only white light on edge of computer.

this could be a problem with the logic board you may want to bring it to apple if you still have warranty on it.

actually what kinda of mac is it? this happened to my macbook pro just aobut 5 days ago. i press power button and nothing. light comes on and HDD spins up but screen remained blank. this ended of as a bad logic board and took it to apple and it was covered under apple care.

ifixit.com actually has a macbook pro logic board repair guide here MacBook Pro just choose the model that you have then find the logic board repair guide. unfortunately i do not know of anywhere to buy a logic board. you may have to google around a bit for that.

First the blinking lights usually indicate a RAM problem. Try reseating the RAM one stick at a time in each of the slots. You may have a bad stick or a bad slot.

well then most techs i've met that work on macsw aren't very good ones. i've seen so many logic boards on macs replaced. good catch you were gonna say amateur weren't you...love how you go and say that against people on an open help forum. i never told him to buy a logic board just told him that thats what recently happened to me. apple checked it out and repaired it thank you very much. he then asked me about a repair guide and i told him that was all. again open forum...
