With my iMac internal HD unplugged, will HD temp sensors go crazy?

iMac 21" 2011 mid2011

I plan to boot my iMac 21" 2011 mid2011 solely from a external SSD via Thunderbolt and I do not want the internal spinning HD powered on, I have no use for it.

If I open up my iMac and unplug the internal HD sata and power cable from drive and close up the iMac, will the internal HD temp sensors go crazy and run the fans up high?

Is the original drive still in it with the temperature sensor attached? If so it should work by disconnection the main HD cables.

Yes, although, there is no discrete temperature sensor attached to the internal HD. The only 2 cables that plug into the internal HD are the sata cable and power cable.
