Phone problems GT-S5300 not working properly

at work our IT guy attempted loading an app to enable me to receive an activation code for remote access to a server for consultancy work.

1 - it would not load

2- the phone now vibrates all the time, i.e. a bzz-bzz every several seconds

3- very often callers are put immediately to voicemail

4- if I turn the phone off, it restarts shortly after

5- it won't call numbers, simply refuses to act when I press the "call" button

6- if I manage to make a call, it then repeatedly recalls the number of its own volition

7- etc, etc.

I have removed the battery for several instances of 10 minutes to half an hour, with no change to its behaviour.

Can this problem be fixed by software upgrades, somehow resetting the phone, anything????

Is this a good question?

Hi,

It's a bit drastic, but you can try performing a hard reset on your phone.

Be aware that a hard reset will erase all your downloaded apps and user data. It will restore your phone to a factory default condition. It will be like when you first bought it.

Before performing a hard reset:

1.Perform a backup of your data. Unfortunately using the phone's backup and restore feature doesn't help in this instance in that if you save your data/apps using the phone's backup feature when you restore your phone using the restore feature (using the backup that you made) you will just be re-introducing the problem back into your phone. Instead just copy your data (e.g. photos etc.) onto a PC. You will have to reinstall all your downloaded apps again

2. Ensure that the battery is fully charged.

3. Do not leave the charger connected when performing a hard reset.

4. Remove the external SD Card (if any installed).

Here is a link that shows what to do.

Be patient, it takes a little while to perform a hard reset.
