Will not power up.

Computer will not power up. Power light flashes 3 times then lights steady, then flashes 3 times again. From what I've read, this indicates incompatible ram installed. Swapping ram chips seemed to fix the problem, but after powering down and trying to power up again, the same problem appeared. Could this be a logic board issue?

Answer this question I have this problem too

When this problem began, I hadn't done a thing to the computer. I didn't install new ram until after the problem occurred. It had been working fine for years up until that point. Any ideas or suggestions?

This is a RAM issue. The RAM has to be installed in the correct slots in pairs. Here's the PDF on how to install it: manuals.info.apple.com/en/memory.pdf

Here's a link explaining which slots must be filled first and the type of RAM to use: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2248?viewl...

If it was working before one of the sticks may have failed or one of the slots. Hopefully you have four sticks. Try one pair at at a time.
