Why wont my LCD Screen/Battery I just got delivered work?

So i had a fall at work and landed on my back off a ladder from about 15-20ft and my phone ended up having the LCD screen crack and slowly started to fade black bit by bit till it was un-usable. I have had back luck with phones over the past while and used up my apple care. I also noticed my battery life was starting to fade dramatically since i fell. So i went to IFixIt and ordered the two components i needed (iPhone 6 LCD Screen and Digitizer Full Assembly & iPhone 6 Replacement Battery) I received both parts and noticed right away that in the LCD case there was a tiny metal bracket loose and didn't think much of it (will re-address this later). My brother has all the equipment i needed to do my step by step replacement for both parts and did everything to perfection even transferring my home button to the new screen, as I was super detailed on what had to be done. I then came to the very last step of putting the two exterior screws in either side of the charging port to then notice they were not screwing into anything, I looking inside to notice the metal bracket i noticed was loose in the packaging right at the start was the missing part, it had broken off prior, i only found one metal bracket and the other was just not in or apart of the case? never the less the LCD Screen wouldn't turn on.. i don't know what is going wrong or if the LCD screen is broken as the 2 metal brackets not attached made the screen loose its integrate of coming to me in functional quality.

Any advice on what might be the problem or any solutions?

Did you make sure not to mix up the screws for the metal plate to cover the display connectors? That's if you have it there.
