iPod touch working completely, but screen is WHITE! why?

Hello.

I've been having this problem for some time now and I've searched everywhere for a solution.

The functionality of my iPod Touch is fully enabled, it's just that I can't see anything. whenever I turn it on, all I see is white.

I can press the screen and it will respond (slide to unlock for example, I can hear it unlocking), it will sync, shut down, whatnot, I just can't see anything.

The screen even shows different intensities of light when needed (when booting up the iPod for example, the white screen is much less bright).

Another thing I've noticed is that the bottom left side of the iPod is warming up whenever the white screen turns on.

I've tried restoring, going into DFU mode, nothing.

It's most likely a Hardware Problem, but I just don't know what exactly.

Can anyone help me out?

UPDATE:

A funny thing happened today. I plugged the iPod into my MacBook Pro today to see maybe a firmware upgrade would solve the issue. I upgraded the firmware but no cigar.

After that I left the iPod connected to my Mac for afew hours.

When I came back and turned it on, the screen WORKED!

As soon as I plugged my iPod out, counted around 5 seconds, the screen went white again just like before.

I think it has something to do with my battery being full?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hey:

Did that solve your problem or does the white screen still come back?

Were you doing any repairs at the time it happened?

by

The problem isn't solved, the problem popped right back as soon as I disconnected the iPod from my computer.

Right now I don't have the iPod in my possession so I can't test further options.

This commonly happens when you disconnect the display assembly. An easy way to solve it is to reset the Touch by holding the home button + sleep button until it resets itself.

Since your update to the original question let me introduce this and see if it works

To fix the iPod Touch white screen of death, press in the sleep/wake button on the top left of the device, and the big circular home button on the front face on the bottom. Do this for roughly 10 or more seconds and the device should shut down/off. Give if a moment and then restart the device. http://www.zolved.com/synapse/view_conte... for a little bit more info. If that does not work I would still think to replace the LCD :) just my 2 cents

I know whats wrong with it, My Ipod fourth generation is white but I can still see things lightly But it's very hard to see ANYTHING. The problem with my Ipod is the battery. If you get it replaced I am 100 PERCENT SURE it will be fixed, It's not often that you have a Ipod battery around the house, so just go to an apple store to get it fixed. If you have a warranty its okay! It doesn't have anything to do with the screen , its the battery, so the warranty WILL cover you! GOOD LUCK!!

If your ipod touch 3rd generation is still white after the power/home reset, try desoldering the battery and resoldering it back onto the motherboard. This helped for me, and helps especially when either your power or home button doesn't work. After you've soldered the battery back onto the motherboard, plug in your device to your computer and you should get the apple boot logo right away, if your battery isn't dead. If you still have a white screen, either your lcd screen is bad and you need to get a new one, or you've snapped off a resistor that is necessary for your screen to light up properly. If your case is the latter, try steadying your hands in order to solder that resistor back onto the motherboard. It's a 50/50 shot. This has worked for me but only half of the time.

I had the exact same problem. Try warming up your ipod for a while before using it, I hold mine in my hands for a bit before I use it in order to warm it up. It's worked for me for quite a while now and as long as I keep holding it while using it, I have no trouble.
