Crashes on start up

If my laptop goes into standby/sleep mode, I can use it and turn it off but the next time I turn on my laptop it will crash on start up and will say to search critical_process_died. I have searched that and cant find a solution. It crashes every time after it has been on standby/sleep mode on the previous use. This has been happening since I got the laptop a year ago.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi,

What happens after the crash, how do you restart it successfully?

Just a thought. If it starts normally after you shutdown after the crash it seems that the "shutdown process" after it has been in standby/sleep might be a factor.

What OS is installed?

Typically on a prebuilt computer (laptop or desktop) this can signify one of two things; 1. A faulty display driver, which could be solved by uninstalling your current graphics driver and redownloading the driver from the manufacturer website, or 2. A faulty windows installation. I would recommend attempting to perform a "refresh" (for Windows 8/8.1/10) and see if that fixes the issue. There are several other possible scenarios, but these two would be the most common, in my opinion.

EDIT 1: One other possible fix if the other two fail would be to see if there is a BIOS update.
