Why is it so slow? 8GB Ram

I have a Dell Inspiron recently reset with Windows 7 Ultimate w/ 8GB of RAM Core i5 and DirectX11.... I have Intel graphics so it seems... This laptop has a very hard time playing 3D graphic games such as Minecraft, Beamng.drive, SpinTires, etc. When playing Minecraft I am using 7.50 gb of RAM. With my other laptop that has 4gb of ram core i3 I run it with 3.75gb of ram and runs so much smoother and faster. So I guess I am asking why this thing is such a piece of junk despite the fact of it being 5 years old. Please have answers (Yes, all drivers are up to date.) This is very frustrating for me and some help would be amazing....

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Try downloading a system monitoring program like fanspeed or hwmonitor and take a look at your CPU temperatures. The CPU could be throttling itself because of overheating. 80c is about as high as it should ever get

I downloaded hwmonitor, and it said they are running around 30-50c. Now I guess my next question could be, that I know the battery is completely shot in this thing and I am not using an original Dell charger although it is the recommended wattage for the pc. Would that be the culprit?

30 to 50c? Is that under a high load though? You want to stress the pretty well and look at the temperature then. What are your power management settings? Battery life or performance?

by

The battery mode is on Performance and I just ran such a high load all the programs stopped responding but I was able to see that the Temp. was at a max and not budging above 61C That was running, Steam game, SpinTires, and a Minecraft Multiplayer modpack. All of these maxed out my CPU at 100% and my RAM was left at 85%

So another guy did an answer and I did what he said, could you look at what he and I said down below and give me some input?

The games most likely auto-detected your hardware and set your Graphics level to the highest it thinks you can run them. Try turning your graphics down a level or two. Disabling AA (Anti Aliasing) can also do wonders.

If that doesn't work, you may have to many programs running in the background. Try a clean boot.

So if I was to purchase a new battery nothing would happen I would just be able to unplug it ? Lol

by

It wouldn't make it faster?Cause then what if it would think it could use more of something because it thinks it has the power to run that something

by

Also I have already tried dumbing down the graphics.... Nothing

by

I did the clean slate boot thing and it seems to run a tiny bit faster but almost not noticable...
