Vaio SVF15N1L2ES Back light fuse gone ..!

I have a Vaio SVF15N1L2ES .. LCD is black

when i connect with external HDMI works perfect ...

I guess the fuse has burned out in the motherbord ..

CAN any one help me ????

Hi,

Not certain if it is the same in your laptop, but there is a switch (usually magnetic - switch in either lid or body or vise versa magnet in either lid or body) in the lid (or case) that provides the power for the backlighting. This allows the screen to be "turned off"when the lid is closed.

Try the following:

Start your laptop, then try holding a torch at an angle close to the screen and see if you can see the "desktop" display on the screen. If you can this proves that the screen is OK and it is as you say a backlighting problem.

It may be that the switch is faulty or the connection or magnet is loose.

You are correct...with the torch I see the images... I changed the complete lid.assembly a new one...No change ... the same...I doubt a something in mother board...fuse might have burned out...?
