Very thin white lines on lines on LCD (digitizer WORKS)? static?

I was replacing a shattered screen and before I replaced it I noticed very thin white lines in the display. The digitizer still worked, even though the screen was shattered. I tested my replacement screen on a new phone before attempting the install on this one, and when I put it on this one, I noticed that the same very thin white lines are present on the display (see photo below). The digitizer works fine, just these tiny little white lines are on the display.

Does anyone know how to get rid of these white lines? Is it static electricity? I've tried brushing the contacts off with 99% isopropyl alcohol 2x so far, but no luck. The battery does not appear damaged in any way.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Hi,

Here are some possible causes and solutions.

1.Bad Connection

Reason, first thing you should do is check the connection between the flex cables and the logic board. If the connectors are obstructed by dust or debris, try to clear them away with a brush and rubbing alcohol. If the connectors are damaged or the flex ribbon is bent over 90°, well, a replacement is needed. After checking those, reconnect the flex cables to the motherboard, making sure the connectors are properly connected.

Solutions, do not force the connectors together until you are sure they are properly lined up; do not bend the flex ribbons during testing and installation.

2. Static Charge

Reason, aside from a bad connection between flex ribbons and the logic board, ESD (Electro-Static Discharge) is another big cause of vertical lines. Too much ESD produced by either the product itself or by human during the test or installation.

Solutions, reduce any static charge by using a body static remover (or touching a ground) before proceeding with any testing or installation. Wear an anti-static bracelet and keep an ion fan on during the repair job.

Wish u luck!

i didn't cause the static (if it's static) because the lines were on the screen before i even opened it...is there any way to get the static out? I read another post that said it may go away on it's own after 1-3 days? I've already brushed the contacts with 99% alcohol 2x, but the issue persists

Try to remove digitizer flex cable and only install lcd flex cable. Lines should go away.

@siki ...I'm a little confused here..if i remove the digitizer flex cable, the digitizer won't function...the digitizer that i have here came with the new screen (so it's a brand new digitizer)...these same lines were on the old screen...

yes, that's right...only difference with the new one is no cracks. the new screen was tested on a different device and does not have lines. It only has lines on this device

Have you tried holding the power button for 10 seconds with screen plugged in and battery unplugged? Then plug battery back in and turn phone on via plugging in charging cable.

might be a chip on the mother board, never seen this problem
