Replaced battery and Screen, Home button, mic and charger port problem

I recently had to change my wife's screen and battery, in two separate occasions, and now the microphone, speakerphone speaker, HOME button and charger port will not work. I read on another post that it MIGHT be the home button causing the issue, but that was for a i4. I have disassembled the phone several times checking the wires, connectors and assembly of all the screws. I am missing one of the bottom screws that holds the phone together, could that be part of it?

On a point, there is sound coming out of the telephone speaker, but not when put onto speakerphone.

Thanks everyone!

Sounds like you have somehow ripped the charger port ribbon cable. Are you still able to charge the phone? Anyway it's probably a good idea to try a replacement charging port / dock ribbon flex assembly.

You can get the part from here:

Guide to replace the part:

iPhone 5c Lightning Connector Assembly Replacement

Since the lightning connector has a connection to the home button via golden prongs, connects to the loudspeaker and has the bottom microphone attached to it and is used when earpiece speaker is used.

No, it does not recognize it is plugged in at all. Thanks for the suggestion! I have a new home button on the way, so if that doesn't fix it, I'll pull the lightning port and speaker assembly out and check it! Thank you again!

Definitely it will be the Charging flex cable. Try to check the connection on the cable and the logic board for damage before you push the new connector.

@acurrier1986 You can test if the charging port assembly home button connection via shorting the two golden prongs that contact with the home button cable to see if it does a home button click (phone will respond like the home button has been pressed.)

Almost certainly ripped the charging flex.

It looks much more complicated to fix than it is. Its also a dirt cheap fix. As long as you are ordering parts, order in iPhone replacement screw set. I doubt missing those screws would hurt anything but you don't want something flopping around in there.

Order up a new connector and some screws and you will be up and running in no time.

I had ordered the screws before I posted this, the same time I ordered the battery. Ordered a new home button, and I'll be ordering the connector in the next couple days. Looks like about $10 on amazon. Thanks everyone!
