Usb Ports not reading any type of usb

I plugged a usb Cd Player and at the moment the laptop turned off and when I restarted it, it didn't read any usb, but power is working and I can charge my mobile.What should I do?

have you got the correct driver installed so the laptop can recognise the USB?
