White powder on mother board?

So, I opened up the water damaged s7 edge and i found on the mother board where the screen connects to it the lego connector port thing. Theres white residue like powder of some sort, maybe from the chlorine pool or some thing? salt water? Any suggestions? Also do you think it's fried and no longer repairable?

are you asking what the white powder is? I'm not sure how we could know that without seeing the phone.

Picture would be nice and in most cases of water damage replace the battery . They just dont like the water if they do still work they usually die later or are never as good as before the water contact

It's corrosion, it was a water damaged phone. Clean it with a toothbrush that was dipped in isopropyl alcohol.

Do you think if I did get all the corrosion spots it would still come back to life?

Water damage is pretty tricky, it might. If it doesn't work, watch this video on YouTube. It is one of my favorite water damage tutorials. Video:

About 1/3 of the time when I fix water damage it will come back to life without replacing any components. See if there are any resistors/capacitors/diodes/filters etc etc that have grey/deformed solder. Make sure both ends of the component are shiny. If they have grey solder, replace them.

maybe, what you are seeing, is lithium that escaped from the battery.

it dont seems good, but try with another battery and cleaning all the components.

if it smells like puke is lithium
