Why won't loudspeaker work?

I recently dropped my phone in water, I was able to dry it out and at first the loudspeaker worked but it was very quiet. Then it completely stopped working, so I replaced the loudspeaker. Still didn't work, I thought maybe it was some corrosion on the connections on the charging port, so I cleaned them and still nothing. Now I replaced the charging port and a new speaker and still nothing. What could be causing the loudspeaker to not function?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hello chsash08 ,

Clean the FPC connectors by isopropyl alcohol and check again.

I have tried cleaning with isopropyl alcohol and still nothing. I should add no sound comes out of aftermarket speakers and only a faint sound comes out of the original.

There is probably still some water damage / corrosion on the logic board under the metal plates. I suggest getting it checked by a professional mobile phone technician that does board level repairs for iPhone.
