iPhone 6 doesn't recognize charger but charges to 1% only

Hello everybody!

So I have this issue with my iPhone 6. It doesn't recognise the charger when plugged in, but suddenly turns on with 1% battery only. During these few minutes it is on, it still doesn't recognise the charger nor it charges. So it basically dies again to charge to 1%. This goes on and on.

Do you maybe have the same experience? It is out of warranty therefore "bring to Apple" answer do not help :/

Thank you!

Sounds like a fried U2 IC. Charging to 1% and no further is one of the symptoms. Try a new battery. If that doesn't work, then it's probably a board-level issue. I don't think it's the charging port because the phone will charge to 1%.

This is probably the case. the charging current with a fried U2 IC can be almost 0 amps to a very low amperage like 0.20 or less amps. Which when the phone is on will probably already use up that power.

Seen it happen on Samsung phones too but usually on the power IC chip side instead of the charging one.

It could be a bad battery or charge port. Have you tried replacing these? Also try multiple cords, if the cord is bad it may only charge intermittently.
