Raised Edging on iPhone SE

I bought a new iPhone SE a few days ago but noticed that the edging all around the screen side of the phone is 'raised' significantly compared to my 5, 5s and the black SE I'm replacing with this new white one. My others are flawless but this is really noticeable and annoying.

This is part of the actual white outer on the screen, not the aluminium edging.

Any ideas? I really don't want to use a screen protector, a case, or use sandpaper on it!

Sounds like the screen isn't aligned quite right. Was this a new phone when you bought it? Because it sounds like someone attempted a repair and didn't know how to align the screen when they replaced it.

If its a brand new phone, take it to the Apple store and have them swap it. I wouldn't accept a brand new phone with such a huge QC issue. If it was used, follow the iFixit guide on removing the display. Make sure there isn't any debris on the battery or logic board. The usual cause of this is a random screw or something preventing the display from sitting properly. Also inspect the battery to make sure its not bloated. LiPo batteries can and will swell and then explode.

If everything looks ok, put the display back on. Put the top edge in first, sliding it under tab that holds it in place. Once you have the top where it should be, gently press your way down from the top to the bottom. The bottom should stick up about a MM, tightening the screws will pull that down into place.

Thanks for the reply. This was a brand new sealed phone. It appears to be seated properly. The edging is part of the screen, or the border of the screen. If you gently move a thumb or finger over and across the corners from the inside to out, you can just feel a slight raised edging. This is so slight that normally you would never notice it.

But the edging is MUCH higher and a LOT more noticeable on this new phone - so much that if I put a screen protector on it the edges and corners of the protector are slightly raised too. I did contact Apple and they didn't really want to know and told me to go back to the shop I bought it from. They said it was 'ok' and didn't warrant a replacement, so maybe I'll try again. Not really what you would expect from a premium phone.
