Inaccurate "Paper size is incorrect!" message

Although I have reloaded with Canon KP-108IN paper, I get the message that the paper size is incorrect and my photos are not printing. The paper goes through but exits unprinted.

I had the same problem after turning on the printer for the first time after several months of not using it. Finally the solution was cleaning the little gray rolling parts that pull the paper in. After having removed the dust it worked like a charm.

Unfortunately for me this fix didn't cure the problem as I still received the error message and on re inserting the cartridge I sometimes got an alternative message that no cartridge was inserted. The latter message gave me a clue and I assume that the retaining catch (brown above cartridge) can become sloppy with age. I tried pressing the cartridge in with my finger retaining pressure for the printing and it worked a treat. I will investigate further to check if there is anything inside the printer preventing the cartridge from lodging automatically but otherwise I may attach something to the cartridge door flap to ensure the cartridge is pushed fully home. Give it a try if cleaning the rollers doesn't work for you - good luck

Lol, I tried all of the above and below. nothing worked. Watched a vid on youtube showing to disassemble and clean. Started to do it, had no screw drivers that fit, was about to give up, started it up and it worked.... Like haha. So I guess, just turn it up and down for a bit and it might work!

Helped for me too. Although there seemed to be no dirt or dust on those little gray rolling parts, after wiping them with some cleaning alcohol and a cotton swab it worked again!

My printer was not used for a while either.

OMG. This helped me. I thought my ink was old or something, but was getting the wrong paper size message. Hadn’t used it in a long time. Had a few cat hairs in the opening. Used alcohol and lint free cloth to wipe down and pulled individual cat hairs out and tried again. It Worked!! I didn’t think it would!

For me also it was the roller at first: cleaned it and got one print right. But then I got get same error again or the “paper tray” one.

Finally I figured that having only one or two sheets of paper in the tray might have been a problem: replenished the tray and printing started again - Yoo-Hoo!

Cleaning didn’t work for me. I have a Maxify MB5460. I went to Cassette Settings and turned off “Detect Paper Setting Mismatch” and then it worked!!

I’ve tried all of the above and cannot get my printer to work. May possibly have to purchase a new printer. Any other suggestions?

None of the above worked for me. I believe a printer has a short life and you have to buy one every two years or so. Such a pain when you want it urgently it never work. I can honestly say I hate printers.
