I am trying to replace digitizer, cant get suction cup to stick

My glass is really smashed, when I put the suction cup on it, I cant get a seal to pull it off, any suggestions???

Put sticky back plastic/ contact? Sellotape, duct tape. Anything like that over the broken glass. Make sure it's not bonded to the bezel. Hey presto-

the suction cup most likely won't seal. you can take a very fine tip flat head precision screwdriver and wedge it between the rubber gasket and the metal bezel down by the home button. pry up gently, try not to damage the gasket. also be careful of the electronics on the dock assembly and the home button ribbon.
