iPhone 6 screen is unresponsive , after being water damage

My iPhone 6 accidentally dropped in the toilet on Saturday evening . I quickly powered it off , dried it & placed it in a bowl of rice . Tuesday afternoon my phone came on . I was getting plenty of messages & notifications , but I tried to slide to put in my password & my screen was being unresponsive . It currently still is unresponsive . what do I do ?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Your best bet is to take it to a 3rd party repair store. You need some type of water damage repair/scrub. That may fix it. If the damage is extensive enough though, you may need a new screen assembly too. Worst case, you may need a new phone :/

If you have the tools though you can try it yourself. Open up the Iphone and scrub the board and affected areas (areas that have corrosion, white powdery looking stuff) with 99% Isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush. Let dry or use a heat gun carefully.

@sally21 skip the rice. It does not do anything other than giving you a false sense of accomplishment. It does not work. I suggest you treat it just like any other water damaged iPhone. The very first thing you want to do is to not try to restart, sync or otherwise try to use the phone. This may further damage your phone. The next thing to do is to clean it. Disassemble your phone using [this guide REmove all EMI dhileds. Then clean it with +90% isopropyl alcohol. Follow this guide , and even so it was written for a 3G all the points are still pertinent to your phone. While you clean your board, check for any obvious damage, like burned or missing components etc. When it is properly cleaned, replace the battery. All these steps are to avoid delayed failure caused by corrosion. Once all this is done, reassemble your phone and reevaluate. In your case it is possible that either the touch screen has failed or the touch IC on the board has failed. Replace the display assembly and see what you get. Hope this helps, good luck.
