Can't connect to WPA wifi network?

Hello,

I keep trying to connect to my wifi network but the iBook will not connect, because the only security option is WEP, but my wifi network is WPA. How to get this to connect?

Sadly, you can't directly ;-{

The AirPort card in your system as well as your OS you have on your system don't have the ability to run WPA as well as WPA2 or WEP2.

The only option here is to buy an Ethernet to WiFi bridge which you connect your iBook to (via Ethernet) then let the WiFi Bridge connect to your cable modems WiFi AP using WPA.

Or, run a long Ethernet cable to your cable modems Ethernet hub if you can.

Sorry the USB option is not possible here either.

The other issue is the older Mac OS's (OS-9 and early OS-X) this system requires also don't have the needed services natively to offer WPA services.

Besides finding a USB version with the needed OS drivers for MacOS of any release will be hard to find.
