It's possible to upgrade from i5 to i7 CPU?

Hi,

I have an iMac 27" late 2009 with Intel Core i5 2.66 GHz, and i'd like to upgrade to a i7 processor. I saw in the Teardown of this Mac that the Socket is the same, about a LGA 1156 Socket H. It should be compatible, so is it possible to upgrade? And when, which speed:

2.8, 2.93 or 3.06 GHz?

Thanks

+ This was really great to learn. It's been a long time since we could do processor upgrades on Macs. I look forward to doing a lot of these.
