iPod 5.5 G 80GB Failed SDRAM Full Test
Hi Everyone. I have a 5.5 Gen IPod Video sitting in my drawer which I recently found again. I didnt realize how valuable this particular generation was until looking on ebay so I thought I would look into fixing it.
When I try to copy or sync files using something like MediaMonkey it always errors out after a few songs. I went into the diagnostic mode and eventually found it to fail on the SDRAM Full Test - the back light turns off instead of blinking which according to the screen means failure.
I assume I have to replace the main logic board? I see the part 820-1975-A should do the job but wanted to confirm I am going down the right path.
Is this a good question?
