Why did my Kindle Fire HD does overheat?

I've had my Kindle Fire HD for 3 years now. 2 weeks ago while it was charging, the screen distorted and then went to white, black and blue bars. I replaced the screen using instructions on this website. The new screen is working perfect. But now, when I play any games or listen to music, it starts to overheat, like a lot! I opened it up and found that heat was coming from where the processor is, under the copper foil. Is there anyway to fix this or is my device just done?

I'll try the battery. All the screws in the Kindle were of the same length except for the TORX and the screw holding a plate over one of the digitizer connections. No parts left over - all accounted for.

You can start by replacing the battery. Sometimes as batteries begin to die they tend to make things overheat you may also want to check your work from when you replaced the screen . you may have replaced a screw wrong putting a longer one in were a short one needed to be causing a short . Where there any extra parts left over after you fixed it possibly insulator pads. Hope this helps
