Soft keys not working

The other day my soft keys stopped working. It clicks on the screen above it, but they don't actually do what they are supposed to. It rained the other day before it happened, I dont know if it's humidity or what. Please help, short of a factory reset, or going to get a new phone(because I don't want to use the apps) .... it's driving me insane
