The tablet only turns on when it is connected to the charger. It turns off immediately when disconnected. Is this a problem with the battery or the charger?

This could be a problem with the charger jack but is most likely caused by the tablets battery. First verify that your charger is functioning properly. Then be sure to let the device charge for longer than 30 minutes. If the device still shuts off, then replacing the battery may be required.

It could be a cold solder joint where the battery is connected to the main logic board. Check with a magnifying glass and re solder if necessary.

I’m with Ken I had to buy a new battery, when I had this issue now it works great.
