Part of the screen unresponsive with every screen

Hello Everyone,

I received an iPhone 5s with the problem that a part of the screen is unresponsive. When typing you can't use the b,g,u letters aswell as in other applications these area's are unresponsive too.

I thought it would be the lcd so I tried to change the lcd. Still the same. A friend told me it could be the backhousing of the iPhone since it was in a bad state and really adding pressure to the screen. But this isn't the problem either.

Does anyone of you have an idea how I can solve this.

Tnx in advance

Hey jochem luytens,

Thats annoying man, had that too.

Look if the LCD shield isn't too thight.

Clean all the connectors on the logic board and connect them again.

Hope this works.

Tnx for the suggestions. I removed the LCD Heat shield (I suppose it is that what you mean? But the outcome hasn't changed yet. I'm going to clean every connect now and see if this does the trick.

First, do what @stijntech said. If that doesn't work, replace the touch IC on the logic board. (Not the Touch ID)

Is this hard to do? And do you perhaps know where I can get a Touch IC replacement?

Yes, it is pretty hard. It would be a lot easier to send it to somewhere in China and have them do it. This is the touch IC:

Or someone locally that is experienced in this if possible.
