How can I fix a damaged ribbon cable?

I'm replacing my screen and am pretty sure in the process, have damaged one of the ribbon cables.

it's the ribbon cable attached to the LCD/Digitizer. Is there any way I can fix it without having to buy another LCD/Digitizer for 90 or so dollars?

Thanks

Are you talking about the one that connects from the backlight (The backlight is the whole black behind that sits behind the display and under the metal shield plate) to the LCD ribbon cable?

or are you talking about the ribbon cable from either the LCD or the digitizer? There are 3 cables coming from the display, 1 for front camera assembly, 1 for Digitizer (touch screen) and 1 for LCD (display).

You can't really fix ribbon cables. You have to replace the component that is connected with the ribbon cable (comes together).

It's definitely not the one from the camera. I'm not sure which of the other two it is. They both come together with a new screen so it doesn't make a difference anyway, right?

Yeah pretty much it doesn't, LCD is fused with digitizer anyway. Largest ribbon cable is digitizer, the second smaller one with it is LCD.

I don't quite understand what you mean. So are you saying I can buy each of those ribbon cables (and their corresponding parts) separately?

by

No I meant you will have to buy the complete LCD + Digitizer + Frame which is basically a front screen assembly.

Ribbon cables aren't really repairable unless you have the very expensive machine that repairs flex cables which I'm pretty sure only people do this in China and it's not worth doing as it costs way more than the part itself.

You can buy the replacement for way cheaper on Amazon. I've repaired 7 phones and the whole kit including the screwdrivers LCD and digitizer screen for 19.99 and if you're Amazon prime it will literally get delivered the very next day
