After replacement of HD cable iFixit IF163-041-1 Mac doesn't turn on

Hi,

After replacement of HD cable iFixit IF163-041-1 Mac doesn't turn on, battery is empty and led light from charger doesn't light up, (I tried with 2 different chargers which work with other laptops), is it possible I damaged something during the replacement of the cable? and if so, where must I search?

Sadly, it does sound like you damaged something.

  • Why were you replacing the cable to start with?
  • Did you make sure the system was fully off before you started?
  • Did you use a plastic tool to disconnect the battery?
  • Did you have a hard time removing or putting back a part?

I replaced the cable because the hard drive was working while I connected it as an external hard drive so I supposed it was the cable, I bought one, the system was off when I started, I didn't disconnect the battery (it's a special screw like à three branches star), I had a little trouble to fold the cable where it's attached with 2 screws
