Trackpad won't click otherwise works great.

MacBook 13" Unibody late 2009 A1342

The trackpad works great but does not click on left or right side. The battery is good, no swelling. Should I try to replace the springs or do I need to replace the trackpad?

If I adjust the detent screw it did help a little, but still did not click properly. Thanks for your help.

I took it apart and gently manipulated the trackpad by bending the metal plate on back upwards. It now clicks fine and all features work great. We will see how long it lasts... but so far over two weeks now.

At his point I would remove it and see if there is something that has gotten under the lip of the pad preventing it from being properly depressed.
