Hi Keith

This sounds like a pretty cut and dry battery issue. Batteries go bad over time and Airs are starting to age. Changing the battery isn't super complicated, just takes time and patience. iFixit has a great guide:

iPad Air Wi-Fi Battery Replacement

Replacing the battery would be my first option. It could be a couple of other things like a bad Lightning port (not very likely) or a power IC (possible but not probable). Either way, replacing the battery is the easiest of those options and will let you know pretty much instantly if it was at fault.

Good luck and keep us updated

Josh, I went to accept one of your answers, hit the wrong button and it got marked as spam. I am trying to get kayak to fix it. Sorry, it should be back and the error corrected soon.

When you're moderating and accepting answers the top box is almost always an accept box. Your post had 16 up votes! I hit it and it was gone. I've already emailed kaykay and requested she fix it.
