iPhone 601 nand error and touchscreen failure
Hi guys, a couple weeks ago I tried replacing my iPhone 5 screen. Fortunately, it went well. The iPhone worked for a week.
After that week my iPhone 5 started acting strange. It started randomly darkening the screen, making the colours more intense and displaying "fainted" images in the back. Simultaneously, it also won't respond to touch. If I hit the Phone on it's back, the brightness will turn normal and the screen looks perfectly fine. The screen won't respond to touch, unless I hit the Phone on it's back, lock and unlock the screen. Then it's just a matter of time before this will happen again.
The Phone also gives a nand error [601] sometimes when I try to start it, then I need to reboot it or wait a while before it boots normally. The camera works perfectly fine when the Phone is on, so I don't think replacing it would fix this problem.
I can provide some more information.
- When I hit on top of the back of the Phone, the colors won't turn normal. But when I hit the back in the middle, the colors will turn normal.
- I haven't tried restoring my Phone yet.
- I have also replaced my battery, but I don't think it's because of that.
Thanks in advance,
Nabil
Is this a good question?
Could someone look into this problem?
I'm clueless on what to do

If you know that a flex cable isn't the issue and you are getting nand errors, then your memory chip may be bad. I would try a restore and see if it gives any errors during the restore.

Thanks for your comment, Ethan!
I just removed the frontcamera flex cable, and it doesn't show any sign of touchscreen failure yet.. Is it posible that this is the cause of that the screen darkens and becomes temporarily unresponsive till I give it a hit on the back? the fact that I need to hit it on the back has to say that's something's not been placed perfectly fine inside of my phone right? what could be the problem?
Thanks in advance,

Yup. It is very common for a bad flex cable to bring down the entire phone. Replace the front cam assembly and you are good. It is not the positioning or insertion of cables, not your fault, the front cam is just bad or not compatible with your model.

Thanks for your reply, Ethan. But I can't see why the front camera flex cable would be the problem. I've replaced the whole lcd+digitizer. This includes the flex cables, right? I'm not sure what to do now.
Thanks in advance,
