water damage, necessary devices

My i phone(brought from Korea, I'm in U.K Nottingham now) was soaked by water (Pure water) 2 weeks ago. And I tried to turn several times.. and even charged it too. At first, it appears white screen twice, and turned off. I kept it in the bowl of rice and put on the hitter for a week. I could see the apple logo and signal for charging keep appearing on the screen but very dark. It doesnot turn on again though. It is rejected to repair because mine is from Asia. If I want to try to fix by myself, what kind of devices should I get? (screw driver, spudger, small suction cup, replace battery <- are these all?) and can I get it off line shop? please answer me T_T help me

Chosen Solution

you can buy the small screw drivers and suction cup on ebay

you will need to open the phone and clean with isopropyl alcohol (try maplins or pharmacy) and a soft brush (i use a make up brush)

follow guide for motherboard on ifixit. remove the metal shield over the motherboard using the side of flathead screw driver -place beneath the small metal tabs and turn screwdriver to lift each tab.(about 40?) repeat along all lengths, slide screwdriver in to central "join" and pry upwards to lift entire shield off. (check screw driver isn't touching/resting on small parts beneath shield or you will damage them trying to lift shield) clean everything you see-water leaves white mould like or greenish residue and if not cleaned will continue to short phone or corrode parts.also need to clean all connectors and cable ends. leave to dry and then clean again-I always seem to miss something. leave to dry overnight, reassemble and power on.

then you'll be able to see what works and doesn't work. hopefully all will be good!

if screen continues to have only faint image you may have a blown back light, some online repair shops in the uk offer a service for this but it's quite expensive.

good luck
