Why Won't Siri/internet work with a broken screen?

I dropped my iphone this morning and the screen/lcd is black and totally unresponsive. I was able to turn the phone off and turn it back on (I know because my blue tooth in my car connected and disconnected from the device). When I first turned my phone back on and held the home button siri said "siri not accessible without internet" or something of the sort, twice. Now when I hold the home button, siri says nothing.

My phone still played music via the blue tooth, but after a while I was not able to access my incoming or outgoing calls via blue tooth in the car(which I am usually able to do). When I hold down the home button, my car is picking up that I am trying to access siri, but it's like siri isn't there to answer...( I don't know how else to explain it).

Phone calls and texts are still coming in and my phone is vibrating and giving me the noise notification.

Finally, I have apple music, and the music that was playing was all music that I had downloaded manually, so it wasn't anything through apple music (i.e. it was all accessible without internet).

I am pretty much asking, is it possible that I messed up my internet/wifi/ LTE connection in the drop? Is it just the shattered screen that is messing with me? Should I just turn off my phone? I am having it repaired this afternoon, but I want to be able to explain what happened when I get there (and prepare my bank account if this is more than just a screen replacement)

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Is it possible the home button may have been damaged in the fall and it worked a few more times then quit?

Listen anything can happen when you drop a complex device like a phone on hard concrete it's certainly possible that one of the radios was damaged in the fall leading to your connection issues.

Just make sure and explain what the phone is and set doing to the tech and...wait do you have apple care? I am guessing you don't by your wallet comment but I have seen people have to pay several hundred dollars to get a replacment phone that was out of Warrenty that may be an option if they find multiple issue with your phone.

Good luck I hope it all works out for you

When I hit the home button, I can still somewhat see the back light working, so maybe it's one of the radios? You're right, lol, I've had bad experiences with apple care in the past, so no apple care. If it's really that bad, I think I'm due for an upgrade, I was just trying to wait until 7 came out. Thanks for the response :)

After ios 9 when you restart the phone you have to unlock it before the phone connects to the internet. Replace the screen and unlock the device and everything will work again.

Well that's going to complicate things a lot when I find out the phone is disabled for a million minutes after replacing screen / unplugging batteries from now on.

Just plug it into itunes and you should be good. You shouldn't need a restore, just plug it into the last computer you backed up/synced and it should reset your password attempts.
