Flashing question mark on startup,

The notebook does not think the internal HD by disk utility, I can boot from cd rom and the hd connected to the internal USB port, it is functioning normally. I installed another HD compatible and still does not recognize. It may be a defective cable or flex in the parent? Thanks.

Performed the procedures suggested and still nothing.

Could you restate the question. I just don't understand it as stated?

1. Question mark at startup.

2. No problem in HD.

3. In disk utility the internal hard drive does not appear.

4. However, the USB port it works normally.

4. CD-ROM also gives boot.

5. I think the problem is with the flex cable from the HD.

Guys, is not the flex cable problem, because the hd is running normally.

At this point I would try replacing the cable as the most likely and least costly part. On general principles try resetting the PRAM and SMC--link provided. If these don't work get back to us.
