My screen is pink.

Good afternoon,

I'm hoping someone can help me.

I have an Acer Aspire 7741z-4433. Took it apart to clean the fan one day, put it back together and the screen has been pink ever since. Any white backgrounds, graphics, etc. are now pink. The screen also looks a pixelated and seems to have a flicker or some type of vibration going on.

I searching for an answer for weeks and haven't come up with a thing. Took the laptop apart about 5-6 times to check all connections, wires, etc. Nothing looks broken, loose or out of place that I can see.

Is there something I'm missing? Any ideas on what it could be? I thought it might be the LCD video cable and replaced it, but it's still the same.

Any help would greatly appreciated.

Kathy

To determine if this is the GPU or a damaged LED, cable or driver board hook it up to an external monitor and see if it is having problems. Let us know your results.

Thank you for your quick reply. I really appreciate it.

I have it hooked to an external monitor now. There is no pink on the external.

Run your finger across the bottom of the display pressing lightly and see if you get a reaction.

Nothing happens.

Now try doing it across the bottom of the LCD frame, pressing harder. There a board in there and sometimes this will tell you if it's damaged.

Still nothing. No changes.
