Black Screen, MacBook turns off and on randomly

I have tried shutting it down and restarting to reinstall the software but the screen still comes on black and turns off a few seconds later. If there is any work to be done on it I would like to do it myself, so if you can help me that would be great.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

muchonice,

I'm sorry to hear you are having an issue with your MacBook Air. A friend of mine had the same issue. Was able to use it, but would should down at random times. Replacing the Logic Board fixed the issue. I believe the main issue is the GPU overheating for some reason. I would recommend taking it to the Apple Store and setting up a Genius Bar appointment.

Here is the link to get started- http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar

I hope this helps!

Thank you for your help. My problem has changed. My screen is now black and stills turns on and off on its own.

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry! I would definitely take it to the Apple Store for them to Diagnose it. Two things you can try before going is reseting the NVRAM and SMC. Here are the links on how to do this -
