DSI XL won't power on

I recently replaced the bottom LCD on my DSI XL, and after I reassembled it, it won't power just a flicker and that's it. I thought maybe the directional pad power circuit board was bad and replaced it, still the DSI XL won't power on.

It worked before I changed the lower LCD just that it was damaged, not I can't seem to figured out my problem of why it won't turn on and work.

Is there a fix for this ? Is it possible that I could have damaged a ribbon cable somehow, I was very careful on disassembly and reassembly.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I had a similar problem attempting to fix my step-daughters ds lite. I replaced the bottom LCD and then the system would make a snap sound and flash white on the screen. There are two possibilities here that I can think of.

  1. The LCD you bought is faulty and not making the pre-system check to ensure all required items are there.
  2. A ribbon from the top portion has been damaged.

Check the ribbons from the top portion, located in the top left of the PCB. If those look to be fine then I would suggest another lower LCD. I have a feeling you've got a lemon LCD sadly.

Can you test the old lower LCD to see if your system turns back on? If not, best you could do is look for another LCD to replace the new one (eBay preferably) and send the other back as damaged.

Let us know how you make out.

Thanks so much I had a feeling that it could be a faulty LCD I bought. I bought it off Ebay. I can see if the person will let me return it. I will try your suggestions

For some odd reason the lower LCDs that I get "new" for the DS Lite and your DSi XL are a 50-50 of getting any working ones sadly. Good luck with any new ones you get it though.
